Fine Tuning Music Tuition was established in 2011 by Claire Garner, an enthusiastic teacher with experience of teaching violin, viola, piano and music theory to students of all ages since 2001.
Claire has always loved music, especially the violin, and her approach to tutoring is that everyone she teaches should enjoy it and love it too, so every lesson is completely tailored to be enjoyable as well as maximising the potential of the student. She uses established teaching methods and books as a guide and as a source of material to play, but enhances this with extra material, including technique exercises of her own creation.
She is more than happy to teach the exam syllabus, is a registered member with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and has successfully entered many pupils over the years. She is equally happy to teach students without entering them for exams.
When teaching young students she has absolutely no objection to parents sitting in on lessons, provided this does not prove distracting.
